Whereas George Mendenhall Son of James Mendenhall of Guilford County in North Carolina, and Judith Gardner Daughter of Stephen Gardner of the same place having declared their intention of marriage with each other before several Monthhly meetings of the people called Quakers held at New Garden in the County aforsed according to the good order used among them and nothing appearing to obstruct were left to their Liberty to accomplish their Marriage according to good order the which they did at Deep River Meeting of 7th of ye 9 mo 1774 in the presents of many witnesses 12 of whose names are here inserted to Wit:
