Sept 27, 1955 - Carroll Daily Times - Anton Henry Sporleder, 74, died as a result of a heart attack at the home of his son, Ervin Sporleder in Glidden early Tuesday
morning. The attack occurred during a birthday party for his granddaughter, Linda, in the Sporleder home. The body is resting at the Huffman Funeral Home in Glidden. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
Mr. Sporleder was born at Joliet, Illinois on July 28, 1881. He came to Carroll County as a young man and lived on a farm until he moved to Glidden eight years ago. He was a son of the late Fred and Francis Werner Sporleder. On February 22, 1905, he was married to Anna Pluckhahn at Carroll.
Surviving are his wife; three sons — Carl of Lake City, Ervin of Glidden, and Lawrence of Carroll; one sister, Mrs. John Kurth; one brother Arnold, and 12 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two children. He had been in poor health since August.
