Nicholas Lauters died at his residence
on Franklin street on Sunday morning
at five o'clock after a brief illness from
pneumonia.
He was apparently in the best of
health until Friday when be took to his
bed, complaining of illness and rapidly
grew worse dying on Sunday.
The deceased was a native of Luxemburg
and was sixty-four years of age on
July 1, He emigrated to the United
States in 1864 and lived in and near Dubuque
until fifteen years age, when he
came to Plymouth county. About a
year ago he took up his residence in this
city.
Mr. Lauters was a good citizen and
had a large circle of friends and acquaintances
by whom he was much
liked and respected. He was manager
of the county farm for a number of
years. He leaves a widow and six son
to mourn the loss of a husband and father.
Mrs. Lauters has been a confirmed invalid
for the past twelve years. Four
of her sons reside in this county, Peter,
in Marion township, John in Fredonia,
and Martin and Joseph at home. T. C.

Jos. Lauters at Larrimore, N. D.
