Jesse W. Sapp, 82, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, in Temple. Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rusty Kwast officiating. Burial will be at Moore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7, at the funeral home.

Jesse Wayne was born in Walnut Springs, Texas, to the late Jesse Ellis and Janie (Hicks) Sapp. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of North Side Church of Christ. Jesse retired from General Tire & Rubber Co. with over 30 years of service, and also retired from AFLCIO and Texas Land Commission. Jesse ran for State Representative, served on the LaVega School Board, and coached Pee Wee football for several years. He was an avid Baylor Football and Lady Bears fan.

He was preceded in death by his son, Rick Sapp in 2006; two sisters; and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Anne, of Waco; daughter, Debbie Wood and husband, Richard, of Belton; son, Ron Sapp, of Snyder; step-son, Johnny Ballard and wife, Genie, of Beach City; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna "Sis" Olson, of Bellmead, and Dorthell "Dot" Lewis, of Arkansas; nephew, Reggie Olson and wife, Mary, of Waco; and other nieces and nephews.
