HENDERSON, Ky. -- Blanche V. Weldon, 75, died Friday morning at her home.

A graduate of Barrett High School, she attended Lockyear Business College in Evansville and was a secretary for Chrysler Corp. in Evansville during World War II.

She retired in 1988 after 27 years with the Broward County (Fla.) School System's management auditing department, where she was an executive secretary.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, John Carter; a daughter, Virginia Weldon Jacobs of Henderson; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Peggy Weldon, died in 1974.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmont Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
