Vivian Alphin went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2012 at the age of 93. She was surrounded by her loving family. She joined Pat Leo Alphin, her beloved husband of 51 years and her great grandson, Colton Rusk.

Vivian was born on February 18, 1919 to Sam and Lilly Marshall in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. A long time resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, she worked as a food service director for Calallen I.S.D., and after her retirement, she worked at Calallen Baptist Church Day Care Center. She spent twelve of her latter years in Orange Grove, Texas. For the past year and a half, she has resided at the River Ridge Nursing Home in Corpus Christi where she had received great care.

She leaves behind her two children, Katy (Wayne) O'Neal of Orange Grove, Texas and Patrick (Peggy) Alphin of Corpus Christi, Texas; her sister, Patricia (George) Wright of Baird, Texas; seven grandchildren, Wayne Lawrence O'Neal, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas, Stacy (Aaron) Hoot of Riddleton, Tennessee, Kathy (Darrell) Rusk of Orange Grove, Texas, Patrick David (Cissy) Alphin of Corpus Christi, Texas, Teresa (Hector) Montez of San Antonio, Texas, Crystal (Tim) Blakeney of Yoakum, Texas, and Brian (Lisa) Alphin of Corpus Christi, Texas. She was also blessed with 25 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and was anticipating her first great great grandchild in January.

Not only was she a blessing to her family but always gave of her time to help others. Vivian had a very giving and loving heart and will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation with the family present will be from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Brian Alphin, Patrick Alphin, Tim Blakeney,

Darrell Rusk, Aaron Hoot and Hector Montez.
