Mrs. R.A. Birchem Died Late Monday; Extended Illness
Services for Bessie Brundige Birchem were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the New Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Arthur Wilkinson and the Rev. Baker. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Bowlin and Riggs Funeral Home.
Mrs. Birchem, a lifelong resident of Weakley County, passed away at midnight Monday at her home in the 25th district. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Her parents were the late Bill Brundige and Sissie Carney Brundige. She was 65 years old.
She leaves her husband, Robert A. Birchem; two daughters, Ruby Birchem Workman and Virginia Birchem Workman, both of Dresden; three brothers, Homer Brundige of Martin, John B. Brundige and Auzie Carney, both of Gleason; two sisters, Channie Brundige Simmons of Palmersville, and Virgie Brundige Sandefer of Martin.
