Cathalene Amanda Good Barnhart, 87, died on August 18, 2013 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Eldon and Lois Rhodes. She was born on April 9, 1926 in Augusta County to the late Otto J. and Anna Weaver Good. On January 1, 1947, she married David H. Barnhart who preceded her in death on September 8, 1991. She lived most of her adult life in the Keezletown and McGaheysville area. She was a lifelong member of the Mennonite church. She served with her deacon husband at churches in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Georgia and later at the Bank, Peake and McGaheysville Mennonite churches. She is survived by five daughters, Lois (Eldon) Rhodes of Harrisonburg, Anna Lee (Roger) Berry of Seymour MO; Ellen (Elam) Heatwole of Harrisonburg, Ferne (David W.) Showalter of Bridgewater, and Esther (James) Rodes of McGaheysville, and one son Roy (Carol Hilty) Barnhart also of McGaheysville. She is survived by a sister, Mildred Simpson of Harrisonburg, a brother, Ethan Good of Macon, MS, and a brother-in-law, James Barnhart of Dayton. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James D. Good of Harrisonburg and four grandchildren. The ministers of the church will conduct a funeral service at the Bank Mennonite Church on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at McMullen Funeral Home on Monday, August 19, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mennonite Air Missions, c/o, Amos Hurst, Jr., 140 Rothsville Station Road, Litz, Pa. 17543.
