Margie Elizabeth Drawdy Pooser, of James Island, passed away September 1, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband of sixty-three years, Ira D. Pooser, Jr.

She was born January 26, 1925 in Walterboro, SC, the daughter of the late Jeff Blanchard Drawdy and Mary Elizabeth Crosby.

Margie worked for many years in the banking business. She was deeply devoted to her family and cherished every moment she shared with them. Margie will be remembered by her family and friends for her many talents that she unselfishly shared.

She enjoyed interior decorating, making the most beautiful draperies, comforters, pillows and flower arrangements. Margie was a self-taught musician and could play the organ, mandolin and steel guitar. Margie was so proud of her sons' and grandson's service in the Fire Department. In her honor, City of Charleston Firefighters will participate as pallbearers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, September 4, 2012, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at the Holy Cross Cemetery, James Island.

She was also preceded in death by sons Donald and Robert Pooser. She is survived by a son, Dr. Fred Pooser (Frances) of Charleston; grandson, Robert A. Pooser (Lori) of Charleston: granddaughter, Allison Pooser Crosby (Lanier) of Walterboro, SC; five great-granddaughters, Carolyn, Chelsea, Natalie, Jalyn and Mackenna; a sister, Helen D. Lukasavage of James Island; nephew, Michael Lukasavage (Beth) of James Island; great niece, Niki great nephew, Jeffrey and her precious "Toto".
