Mrs. Venus Peak Rites Scheduled: Funeral services for Mrs. Venus Peak, 76, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fendley-Barker and harris Funeral Home. The Rev. John A. Wood, pastor of the First Baptist Church of which Mrs. Peak was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in Maplelawn Cemetery. Mrs. Peak, a resident of 1633 Madison St., died at 9:35 a.m. Monday in Western Baptist Hospital. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World. She and her husband had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in December. She leaves her husband, Charlie Peak; a son, Bill Peak of Mayfield; a daughter, Mrs. George E. Riley, Owensboro; a brother, Roy Ray Rudd, Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Weatherington, Paducah; four grandchildren, Mrs. Katrina Jewell and Mrs. Jenna Stinson, both of Morehead, and Miss Jeanne Marie Riley and Miss Margaret Riley, both of Owensboro; and a great-granddaughter, Miss Stephanie Kay Jewell of Morehead. Friends may call at Roberts Funeral Home in Mayfield until 11 a.m. Wednesday when the body will be brought to Fendley-Barker and Harris Funeral Home where friends may call in Paducah. The pallbearers will be Bob Peak, Dana Stinson, Tony Jewell, Harold Weatherington, James McBride and Charles McClure.
