"Rest In Peace Dear One"

Our devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Helen Iris Locke Bowles, 85, quietly joined her sweetheart and our Father-in-Heaven on Tuesday, September 8, 1998.

She was born on September 9, 1912 in St. Louis, MO to George W. and Mary Mullins Locke. She married Samuel L. Bowles in Farmington, Utah on January 23, 1933. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on December 5, 1949. Mom was a member of the LDS Church and had served in each of the auxiliaries of the church. She was an especially devoted visiting teacher. Mom loved to crochet and had won a ribbon at the Utah State Fair for a dress she made. She also loved to sing and to play the piano and organ. Even though she had never had any formal lessons, Mom had taught herself and was part of the Church's "Singing Mothers" as well as a double trio with friends that she dearly loved. There was nothing Mom would rather do than to sit and play her piano and organ. Dad and Mom were devoted parents and grandparents and their family was the most important thing in the world to them. Dad had preceded Mom in death as did her daughter, (Dorothy Ure) and son-in-law, (Ron Ure) and several of her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two sons, and one daughter; all of Salt Lake. Mom had 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, both Salt Lake City; sister, Oceanside, California.

Funeral service will be on Friday, September 11, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the Granite 9th Ward, 2130 East 10000 South, Sandy. Family and friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State, on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to service on Friday at the church. Interment will be next to Dad at the Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Road.

"Dad and Mom, you're finally together again. We love you!"
