Shelburne Falls - Mrs Nellie S. Groves, 89, of Bray Rd., died Friday in a local nursing home.
Born in Conway March 11, 1876, she was the daughter of William and Lydia (Townsend) Stowe. She had been a resident of this town most of her life and was the widow of Arthur Groves who died in 1950. An only son Harold Groves died in 1964.
Member of First Baptist church, the Baptist Missionary Society and a charter member of the Buckland Historical Society; leaves a daughter-in-law Mrs Eleanor Groves with whom she made her home, two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and one nephew; funeral from Johnson funeral home, burial in Arms, no visiting hours.
