Edna Adeline (Barton) Lowe, 90, a resident at St. Mary Health Care, died at 10:05 PM Friday, June 24, 2005, at her residence. Born Feb. 23, 1915, in Oxford, she was a 1933 graduate of Jefferson High School and had resided in Lafayette most of her life. She married James Lowe on Aug. 23, 1936, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1984. Mrs. Lowe was a homemaker. She was a 50-yr member of First Baptist Church in Lafayette and past president of American Association of Retired Persons. Edna was an overall community volunteer. Surviving is a son, Richard Lowe (wife Linda) of Lafayette; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Services at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, June 27, the Rev. Peg Nowling officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
