Eula Belle Bartos Kocurek, age 96, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2001, in Seymour. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Edward C. Hart officiating. Interment was in the SPJST Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kocurek was born October 25, 1904, in Louise, Wharton County, Texas. To Czechoslovakian Immigrants, Maria Sembera and Simon Bartos, who moved to Bomarton in 1910. Eula attented the Corn School.

On December 28, 1926 she married Josef Frank Kocurek in Bomarton, Texas and they farmed in the Ogden Community for 54 years. They moved to Seymour in 1980. Joe passed away August 1, 1985.

Mrs. Kocurek was a member of the SPJST and RVOS, and the Ogden Home Demonstration Club. She won numerous prizes for her canned fruits, vegetables and crafts.
