It has been suggested that Camille was also known as Camille Gagnon, and that he was the son of Louis and Marie Anne Gagnon.

The Forty-Second Annual Report for Keene, New Hampshire (1915) includes a resolution by the council that they "hereby accepts the Camille Gonyou Cemetery fund of four hundred dollars, in
trust, the income of which is to be used for the care of the
Gonyou burial lot (No. 61) in Greenlawn cemetery."
