Her husband Clyde was drafted during World War II. He was stationed for a while at Camp Roberts, California. Allene took her three small children, along with what possessions they would need to live, and traveled by train to California. The trip took three days.
After the War Clyde and Allene purchased Haney Grocery in Gene Autry. Following the death of her husband, Allene ran the business on her own until 1972.
She was always a very helpful, caring person and had many friends.
