Lizzie married Richard Franklin Banks on 13 Jan 1918 at Norton, Johnston County, Oklahoma. This couple were the parents of two daughters, Allene and Lorene. Richard passed away on 10 Feb 1922, prior to the birth of his second daughter.
Following her husband's death, Lizzie moved to her mother's home to live. Her mother was also a widow with three children still living at home and a brother, John Robert Jasper "Bob" Copeland. When her mother passed away Lizzie continued to take care of her youngest sister and her bachelor Uncle. She earned a living for this extended family by working in the fields, doing laundry and sewing. She became an accomplished seamstress which continued to be her profession the remainder of her life.
On Aug.2, 1928 Lizzie married Oscar "Doc" Davis at Mannsville, Johnston County, Oklahoma. Doc and Lizzie had a daughter named Juanda Gene. Doc passed away on 16 Feb 1938 in Sulphur, Murray County, Oklahoma. Lizzie remained a widow for the rest of her life.
She was known as Big Mama to her grandchildren.
