OBITUARY Notice: Iroquois County Daily or Watseka Republican; dated August 31, 1925 ? Excerpt " Gabriel F. Keath, 22 years old, son of George L. and Maude H. Keath, proprietors of the Commercial Hotel in Watseka, met a tragic death at Fairbury early last Saturday, morning, August 29, when the full voltage of electricity maintained through that city by the C.I.P.S. Co. passed through his body as he was descending from a 30-ft. pole at the top of which he had been at work testing wires. He fell from the pole to the cement pavement below, without making an outcry, striking on his head and shoulders. It is believed that he met instantaneous death when the heavy voltage of electricity passed through his system. . . . The accident by which he met his death occurred about 8:30 am, Saturday, shortly after his day's work was begun, the pole from which he fell being the first he had climbed that morning. Deceased was a steady, conscientious, upright, home-loving young man, quiet of disposition and a good workman, esteemed by his employers and fellow workmen, and by a host of young friends, and other acquaintances. The bereaved members of the family have the heartfelt sympathy of the community at large in this, their hour of sorrow. . . . The body was brought to Watseka Saturday, and funeral services held yesterday . . . "Gabriel F Keath, 22 years old, son of George L. and Maude H.
