Mr. B. F. Bennett, 81, a resident of Taft and a retired farmer and cattleman, died Monday (Dec. 27, 1999) at Donalson Care Center.
Mr. Bennett was a Lincoln County native, son of the late Bennie Forrest and Ozella Franklin Bennett.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Kirkland Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for 25 years.
Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Jewell Hall Benntt of Taft; son, Joe Paul Bennett of Bardstown, Kentucky; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce Elaine and Gerry Griffin of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Wanda Bennett and Howard Southerland of Nashville; sisters, Pauline Philpot and Irene Keller of Petersburg; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Petersburg Chapel of McCauley Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Haynes officiating. Interment was in Kirkland Chapel Cemetery.
