Joan M. Swetlick, age 79, of 953 S. 37th St., Manitowoc, entered eternal rest Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. David Hoffman. Cremation will follow with burial of the cremains to follow at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Joan was born July 9, 1926, in Black River Falls. She was the daughter of the late Archie and Myrna Morrow. She was a graduate of Madison East High School, Madison, and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Joan had been employed for many years at Aluminum Specialty. On Oct. 22, 1956, she married Vernon E. Swetlick in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death March 7, 1993. Joan was a member of St. Francis of Assisi attending the Waldo Site, where she had been a church usher for many years.
Joan is survived by six children: Candie (Tom) Orth, Sheboygan; Larry (Chris) Weber, Stevensville, Mich.; Kathy (Mark) Moran, Rochester, Minn.; Jim (Barb) Weber, Manitowoc; Steve (Colleen) Weber, Manitowoc; Michael Swetlick, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Amanda Weber and special friend: Chad Ansorge: Missy (Kevin) Krutzik; Emily Weber; Joey (Ericka) Weber; Jennifer Labinskie: Ben Weber; Stacey Duellman; six great-grandchildren: Aidan, Kailee, George, Serena, Kenny and Brady; one brother: Jeff Morrow, Madison; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; Vernon in 1993; one grandson: Andy; one sister and one brother.
Friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a prayer service to be held at 6:30 p.m. led by Deacon Paul Kiefer. The visitation will continue on Monday at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
