Effie Olive Davis, 85-year-old former North Salem resident, died Saturday morning in an Indianapolis nursing home. She had been ill since last October.
She was born in North Salem May 9, 1874, the daughter of William and Mary Pritchett. She was married to the late Lonnie Davis who died in 1943. She was an active member of the North Salem Christian Church as long as her health permitted.
Services were Monday in the Porter Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles B. Barr officiating. Burial was in the North Salem Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Irene Kingery of Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Mrs. Warren Mayes, of California; one great-grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Jen Trotter, who is residing at the Masonic Home in Franklin.
