Edward Berkholtz, 88 of Reedsville, died Sunday morning in Manitowoc Health Care Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at St. John-St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville. The Rev. Harlyn Kuschel will officiate and burial will be in Brillion Community Cemetery, Brillion.
Mr. Berkholtz was born June 10, 1890 in Reedsville, son of the late August and Augusta Brandt Berkholtz. He married Emma Henning Sept. 15, 1910 in St. John-St. James Church. A musician in area bands and orchestras for 65 years, he also farmed until 1968, when he retired and moved to Reedsville.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Melvin of Burlington, Wis., and Elroy of Reedsville, a daughter, Mrs. Glen (Adeline) Seehawer of Lakeland, Fla., two sisters, Mrs. Ella Schwanke of Reedsville and Mrs. Frieda Mattes of Chilton; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A daughter, a brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
