Frieda Mattes, 87, of the Chilton Village Nursing Home, formerly of Collins,
passed away on Saturday, September 22, 1990 at Chilton Village. Funeral services
will be 2 pm Tuesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Collins with the Rev. Arnold
Ruddat officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was born March 18, 1903 in Reedsville, daughter of the late August and
Augusta Brandt Berkholtz. She was married to Roland Mattes on June 24, 1923 in
Brillion. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Collins.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Laverne Mattes of New
Holstein; three grandchildren, Jeff and his wife, Diane Mattes of Plymouth, Jim
and his wife, Joan Mattes of Valders, Laurie and Tim Argall of Hayton; two step
grandchildren, Scott and his wife, Linda Mattes of Annandale, Virginia, Susan and
her husband, Mark Holbrook of Santa Barbara, California; seven great grandchildren,
two step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 1,
1976, three sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Collins on Tuesday from noon to the
hour of service. Wieting Funeral Home, Reedsville, is assisting the family with
arrangements.
