DEATH OF ELDER KEEP
We regret to learn that Rev. John Keep, pastor of the Congregational Church at Stockbridge, departed for the "better land" on Saturday last at one o'clock a.m. The deceased was an exemplary man and a good Christian, and his death is deeply regretted. His age was 65 years. Rev. Mr. Doe of Ripon, upon being notified, immediately started for Stockbridge and conducted the religious rites on Sunday. On Monday the remains, in charge of Hon. L. Goodell and Mrs. Keep, were taken to Winnebago, Ill., for interment. The deceased was a native of Holden, Worchester Co., Mass., and has been actively engaged in ministrial labor for the past 35 years—the last four being spent at Stockbridge.
