Born in Carterville, Jasper County, Missouri, she came to California in about 1891. She married in 1917 to William Harold Crawford but was estranged and never remarried. She had two children, son Melton and daughter Lois Jean, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She lived most of her adult life in Manhattan Beach, California, but was living with her son and daughter-in-law in Paradise, California at the time of her death.
