"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 28, No 52, p 207, Dec. 19, 1872.

In Alfred, N. Y., Dec. 1st, 1872, Amelia Potter, wife of Isaac Fenner, aged 73 years, 7 months, and 26 days. She was born at Potter Hill, R. I. In her thirteenth year, she made a profession of religion, and, with her older sister, and thirty other young friends, was baptized by Eld. Matthew Stillman, and joined the old Hopkinton Church.

In the Winter of 1820, she was married, and in the Fall of that year, came with her husband to Herkimer Co., N. Y., where they lived five years, and then moved to Allegany county. Here she spent forty-seven busy years, faithful in all her household labors, and earnest in her loving care for her children. And God blessed the mother's example, and the mother's prayers, in permitting her to see her children, who lived to grow up, useful in society, and all followers of the Saviour.

Two years ago she joined the 2d Alfred Church by letter from the 1st Alfred, which she had joined by letter from the 1st Hopkinton. When her work was done, like the saints of old, she peacefully fell asleep in Christ. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord, from henceforth; yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them." - Rev. 14: 10.
