Charles lived at Woodley, Manchester and was baptized at Stand Church by Rector Thomas Corser on Oct. 30, 1854. Charles attended Repton in 1871. He married first in 1892 Marion Armitage in Bradford, West Yorkshire. She passed away in 1893 from complications during child birth. He married secondly Hilda Mary Radcliffe, daughter of Joshua Walmsley & Lucy Jane Radcliffe of Wernerth Park in Oldham, on 7/31/1895. Charles' residence at the time of his second marriage was Chelford and Werneth Park. Joshua was the Mayor of Oldham and the owner of cotton mills. As one of the surving sons of Arthur Wentworth Lyon, Charles remained involved in the family business interests with A.W. Lyon, Jr. He was trusted enough by his father to be named as one of the 4 Executors of his father's will.
