Ardys Maud Moore Crapo, much-loved mother and grandmother, passed away Aug. 27, 2012. She was born May 5, 1917, in Brea, Calif., the fifth of six children born to John Q. and Maud Phelan Moore, all of whom predeceased her.

Ardys married Leonard O. Crapo in 1936. On the day they met, Leonard told his friends that she was the woman he would marry.

Ardys inherited her father's sense of humor and always enjoyed a good practical joke. She also inherited her mother's sweet disposition and was a giving person who asked for very little. She was a friend to everyone she met.

Ardys worked as a beautician for several years and then worked with her husband in his grocery store. She and Leonard resided in La Habra, Calif., until 1971 when they moved to Cache Valley. They made their home in North Logan.

They were both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ardys loved genealogy and family history and contributed important articles to family history magazines. She also served as a counselor in the Relief Society and as a visiting teacher.

She is survived by two children, Roberta (Max) Bunn of North Logan and Richley (Sharon "Shari") Crapo of Providence, Utah; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Leonard; daughter Beverly DeBaun; grandson David; and her parents and siblings.

Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. in Logan. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Paradise Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Allen Mortuary of North Logan.
