Loela Delberta Kerr passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Cypress Village Assisted Living Facility in Jacksonville, Fla. She was born Feb. 10, 1923, in Youngstown, Ohio, and was the daughter of Delbert Harmon Holtzhauer and Loela Maria Davies. Mrs. Kerr, a long time resident of Westmoreland and Allegheny Counties Pennsylvania, graduated from New Kensington High School and Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh. She worked for Braeburn Steel Corp., Alcoa Aluminum, and retired as a chemist from PPG Industries. Her pastimes included sewing, needlework, quilting, reading and traveling. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Allison Park and the Springdale Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Kenneth Edgar, in 1959, and Nathan Frederick Kerr, in 1991. Survivors include her daughter, Loela J. Marinelli, of Jacksonville, Fla.; son, J. Kenneth Edgar, of Coinjock, N.C.; grandchildren, Major Jason E. Marinelli, of California, Michael S. Marinelli, of Florida, Catherine Sipes, of Pennsylvania, and Linda Warnick of Pennsylvania; and great-grandchildren, Lucas E., Cooper T., Jonathon D. and Avery C. Marinelli, Zachary and Madison Sipes, and Cody and Christopher Warnick. Mrs. Kerr will be interred at a later date at Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Lower Burrell. Services under the care and direction of QUINN-SHALZ FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Jacksonville Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the hospice unit of your choice.
