Daughter of Elias and Lucy Berry Fant. She was a sister of John B. Fant, William B. Fant, Frances Z. Cochran, and Simeon Fant. All are buried at Fant Cemetery. Lucy E. Fant married Thomas L. Beard February 10, 1841 in Marshall County, MS. They had two children - daughter Alwida (Allie) and son James Melville Beard. After Lucy's death, Thomas remarried in November 1855.

The top part of the headstone, including name and most of the birth date is broken off. A footstone in front of the marker has the initals L.E.B. engraved on it.
