Edith Helen Magar, 83, of Batesville died Thursday, November 8, 2007 at her home.
She was born February 7, 1924 in Mountain View, the daughter of Elbert Milton White and Norah Jane (Jeffries) White.
She was a homemaker; enjoyed gospel singing, sewing, studying her Bible, going to church and her family. She was a member of the Vine Street Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Randy Magar and his wife Lori of Lincoln, Arkansas and Alex Magar and his wife Margaret of Moorefield; a daughter, Susie Satterwhite and her husband Vernon of Cave City; a sister, OmaLee McGuffey of Batesville; seven grandsons, Michael Magar, Travis Magar, Robert Magar, Mickey Satterwhite, Johnny Satterwhite, Scott Magar, and Bradley Magar; five granddaughters, Amanda Pontes, Tracy Armstrong, Lisa Wiegand, Leah Jones, and Alicyn Magar; nine great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law Donna Magar of Batesville and Sandra Magar of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred Daniel Magar; two sons, Milton Eugene Magar and Rickey Daniel Magar; three brothers, William White, Bernard White, and Burl White; and two sisters, Ethel McGuffey and Opal Cook.
Pallbearers are Michael Magar, Travis Magar, Robert Magar, Mickey Satterwhite, Johnny Satterwhite, Scott Magar, and Bradley Magar. Honorary pallbearers are Amanda Pontes, Tracy Armstrong, Lisa Wiegand, Leah Jones, Alicyn Magar, Dr. Greg Neaville, Lester McGuffey, Tony McGuffey, and Frankie Lee Auten.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2007.
The funeral service is at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Vine Street Missionary Baptist Church in Batesville officiated by Randy Magar, Larry Travis and Tony Moser.
Interment will follow the service at the Locust Grove Cemetery by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
