Charles Trendel
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ted Tibbitts Mortuary for Charles J. Trendel, 90, 1944 Mission, who died Friday in an Osage City nursing home.
He was born March 30, 1879, at Lyndon and lived in Topeka 45 years. He had been a member of the Baptist Church at Qurnemo. He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mollie E. Trendel, at home; a son, Clifford Trendel, 4047 W. 21st; three stepsons, Hubert Griffin, 1821 E. 21st, Alvin Griffin, 627 Highland, and Russell Griffin, Holton; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Juanita Thomas, 1111 N. Kansas, and Mrs. Opal Talty, 208 Story; a brother, Joe Trendel, Overbrook; four sisters, Mrs. Carrie Worship, Lyndon, Mrs. Trace Wadsworth, Michigan Valley, Mrs. Sphie Davis, 1315 Collins, and Mrs. Kate Warren, 1710 Quincy; three grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren, and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Trendel will lie in state at the mortuary until time of services.
