Born in New Brunswick, he has lived in Highland Park for most of his life. He had graduated from Rutgers University in 1953 and received his Law Degree from the University of Virginia.
Bill had been very active at Rutgers University. He was a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity and had served as senior manager of the Rutgers University Glee Club. He had served on the Board of Trustees and was inducted into the Loyal Sons of Rutgers. Bill had served as the past president of the Rutgers Alumni Association in 1976 and 1977. In 1987, he received the Rutgers Alumni Meritorious Service Award. Bill was inducted into the Old Guard of Rutgers in May 2003.
Bill had been active with the New Brunswick Kiwanis Club as well as a past member of the Union Club of New Brunswick. He had served as the past moderator of Community Baptist Church in Somerset. Many years ago, he had served as the treasurer of the Middlesex County Vocational-Technical School, as well as serving as the president of the Highland Park Board of Education.
Bill had been a partner with Peter D. Campbell, Esq. in their law firm in New Brunswick for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy (Welden) Snedeker; two daughters, Margie Snedeker and Jeanne Snedeker; three grandchildren, Sierra Pung and her husband, Daniel, Seth Greenberg and his wife, Cassie, and Shea Greenberg, and a great -granddaughter, Lizzie.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park, followed by interment at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Relatives and friends may call today (Wednesday) from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home, (www.jkfuneralhome.com). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McCarrick Care Center, 15 Dellwood Lane, Somerset, NJ 08873.
