Jane is the daughter of Sylvester & Martha (Allen) Benedict and she married Thomas Doughty in Morrow Co, Ohio and they started their family in Morrow Co, Ohio, where the first two children were born. After they removed to Bark River Wood, Walworth Co, WI. and eventually to near Winneconne, Winnebago Co, WI. They are the parents of six children:
