A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at St. Andrew Baptist Church, 230 Bush River Road, Columbia, with interment in Bush River Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Austin was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished family, friends and the many customers she served during her 25 years as a sales associate at J. B. White.
She was a daughter of the late Worley G. Griffin and Bertha J. Griffin of Monroe, N. C.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Thomas D. Austin, daughters, Rhonda (Jeff) Costner of Irmo, S. C., Kathy (Jim) Dodson, Norma Jean (Mike) Hill and Amy (Pat) Abrams, all residing in Lexington, S. C., sister Margie G. Pressley of Culpepper, Va., brother Kenneth G. Griffin of Monroe, N. C., 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
