Gail Marie Petty/Schoenhals died Monday, 13 Aug 2012 at San Joaquin Community Hospital due to complications of a stroke.
Gail Marie was born in Battle Creek, MI to Percy and Marie Petty on 23 May 1948.
Gail Marie moved to Ridgecrest, CA in 1978 where she met and married Sam Schoenhals, the love of her life, in 1980 Gail was a very caring and compassionate individual. She worked as a real estate property manager where she helped people and families find a place to live.
Then she worked at a temporary agency where she helped people find jobs so they could support themselves.
Finally, she was a successful stock broker/financial advisor with Edward Jones where she assisted people in developing and managing their financial affairs. Over the years Gail served on the Board of Directors on several agencies in Ridgecrest, CA, including Boys and Girls Club and the Salvation Army.
Gail had a very inquisitive mind and was always searching for knowledge.
She loved to read and travel. She was very proud of the fact that, through her efforts, she and Sam were able to travel extensively and visit over 25 countries in the world.
Something that pleased and meant so much to her was being able to put on a big BBQ party for our Veterans and the community.
Gail Marie was a member of the Rotary Club of Indian Wells Valley and the Ridgerest Lions Club.
Gail Marie is survived by her husband Sam Schoenhals of Ridgecrest, hr brother Gary Petty and wife Carol of Fairfax, VA, her step-children Mark and Magda Schoenhals and children Tessa and Alana of Boulder, CO, Brett Schoenhals of Los Angeles, CA and Rea and Steve Labossiere of Castle Pines, CO. She is also survived by a niece Katherine, a nephew Daniel and sister-in-law Peggy and Lynn.
Gail Marie was preceded in death by her father Percy Petty and her mother and step-father Marie Petty/Allen and Ed Allen, and her brother Gerald Petty.
