Professional Hockey Player. A naitive of Hibbing, Minnesota, Polich played the position of Right Wings for teams in the Hi-School, SCSHL, NHL, IAHL, AHL, and the PCHL hockey leagues. At 6'2, and 200lbs, Polich played for the Hibbing Blue Jackets from 1934 to 1935, Loyola University College Lions from 1935 to 1939, New York Rangers from 1939 to 1941, Philadelphia Ramblers from 1939 to 1942, and the Los Angeles Monarchs from 1942 to 1948 (which he also was Head Coach from 1946-1948). Polich was also a noted football player, KTLA television personality, and was also the first person to direct the television broadcast of the Tournament of Roses Parade in 1947. Polich passed away in Alhambra, California, in May 2001, after battling liver cancer.
