POOL, LESLIE FLOYD—Leslie Floyd Pool, third child of John T. and Rose Miller Pool, was born October 1, 1900, in Seward, county, Nebraska.

Leslie was united in marriage to Irma Vollman, May 5, 1926, at Holdrege, Neb. To this union were born two children, Keith Allen and Mary Anne, who died in infancy.

He moved to Geneva in the spring of 1934 with his family. For about the next 10 years he operated a café in Geneva. After selling the café, he bought the Geneva Hotel in the fall of 1944, which he still owned and operated at the time of his death.

The evening of September 27, 1964, Les, as he was known by his friends, became ill and was taken to the Fillmore County hospital. October 3, 1964, he was transferred to the Bryan Memorial hospital in Lincoln, Neb., where he passed away October 14, 1964, at the age of 64 years and 13 days due to a blood clot on the brain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a baby sister and an infant daughter.

Survivors include his wife Irma and son Keith of Geneva, four brothers, George of Lincoln, Arthur of Long Beach, Cal., John T. of Los Angeles and Ralph of Hebron, Neb., four sisters, Mrs. Alta Bouchard, Miss Hannah Pool, Mrs. Alice Brokaw, all of Hebron and Mrs. Elsie Brocaw of Shasta, Cal., as well as several nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the Kritner-Farmer funeral home at 2 p. m. Friday, October 16, 1964, with Rev. J. M. Ruthven of Lincoln, a former Geneva pastor, officiating. Mrs. Oscar nelson, accompanied by Mrs. Melvin Olson, sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “Going Down the Valley.”

Pallbearers were John R. Bixby, Paul Emery, Vaughn Fulton, Alvan Heath, Kenneth Heisey and Harrison Kaar. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
