Nursing home aide Treasa Zuckschwerdt Newell, 46, of Puryear died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 at her residence. Results of an autopsy have not been given.
She was married on Dec. 7, 2007, to Joseph Richard "Joe" Newell, who survives.
The body was to be cremated.
A memorial service is planned at 4 p.m. Saturday at Puryear Baptist Church, where she was a member. Randy Kuykendall and Danny Zuckschwerdt will officiate.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. McEvoy Funeral Home is in charge.
Born Aug. 17, 1963, in Fayetteville, she was a daughter of the late Otto and Gracie Wade Zuckschwerdt.
Newell worked as an aide at various nursing homes in Henry, Stewart and Carroll counties. She was a Henry County High School graduate.
She also leaves two sons: Geoffrey Zuckschwerdt Newell of Puryear and Michael Turner of Lancaster, Pa.; three sisters: Kathy Zuckschwerdt of Puryear, Ruth (Randy) Phillips of Jackson and Gloria (James) Shoemaker of Alabama;
Five brothers: Danny (Stephanie) Zuckschwerdt and Larry Zuckschwerdt, both of Puryear, Billy Zuckschwerdt of Paris, Jimmy Zuckschwerdt of Alabama and Jerry (Diane) Zuckschwerdt of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
