Our Dad, Grandpa and friend passed away in his home on August 21, 2012. Rodger was born April 17, 1939, in Monrovia, California, to the family of Howard and Bonnie Jean Hutchings. Dad had two brothers, Robert and Scott and two sisters, Bonnie Jo and Judy. Dad served honorably in the Army from 1960 - 1963.

He was married to Margie Warren on September 16, 1960 and together they raised five beautiful children. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He dedicated his life to hard work, his kids, grandkids and always treating others the way he would want to be treated. Dad served as a volunteer firefighter for several years.

Dad was a faithful and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in several areas of the church including temple worker, which he loved.

We will always remember the man he was and the many ways he touched our lives.

Dad is survived by his children: Mary (David) Peterson; Janet (Naulivou) Lauaki; Danny (Janet) Hutchings; Karolyn (Glen) Davis; and Rodger (Julie) Hutchings. He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Bonnie Jean Hutchings; wife, Margie (Warren) Hutchings; her parents, Welby and Mable Warren; brother, Scott Raymond Hutchings; and grandson, Naulivou Atenisi Lauaki.

We would like to thank all those who have helped the last few months with Dad, and a big thank you to Alpha Home Health and Hospice.
