Mrs. Bina Lyons Townsend, 90, of Zionville, widow of Radford H. Townsend, Sr., died Tuesday morning, October 10 at Watauga Nursing Care Center.
She was born October 25, 1898 in Blowing Rock, to James Sanford and Lillie Hartley Lyons. She was a member of Mabel Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, one son, two sisters, two brothers, twelve grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Miss Nanabell Lyons and two brothers, Fred and Dolph Lyons.
Services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Carl Johnson and her grandson, the Reverend David Henson and the Reverend Mike Townsend.
