William Johnson, who is well known in Red Bluff, came to an untimely death yesterday Morning. On account of the suddenness of the death, a coroner's jury was called to act upon the case. William Johnson, was the son of Mrs. Thilena Brownell, who lives on the South Fork of the Cottonwood road. He was 25 years of age, and lived at 307 Lincoln Street. According to the testimony taken by the coroners jury, Johnson was taken sick on Thursday and suffered violent spasms. In the afternoon he became unconscious and remained in that condition until death relieved him. The jury came to the following verdict:
"We, the Coroner's Jury find that the name of deceased is William Johnson of about the age of 25 years. He came to his death at 307 Lincoln Street at or about 5 o'clock, October 23, 1908, from a weak heart, superinduced by acute attack of indigestion. The following were the names of the Coroner's Jury: J.S. Freitas, J. Brass, Clarence Thorp, John Miller, Henry Luning, Dave Wells, W.D. James;, Coroner Decker was absent and Justice of the Peace Ludeman was called upon to make the inquest which was held at about 5 o'clock."
Mr. Johnson is survived by a wife and child.

Note: Census information does not support that William was the son of Thilena Brownell.
