Helen Pate, 90, passed away at 4:55 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, in Murphysboro.
Helen was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Gorham, a daughter to John Howard and Nettie Ellen (Higgerson) Bilderback. She was united in marriage to Wiley Pate on Dec. 7, 1940, in Perryville, Mo.; he preceded her in death Feb. 13, 2004.
Helen was a member of Pate Chapel Baptist Church. She was valedictorian of Gorham High School class of 1937 and also held a Palmer Method Certificate, which was her most prized possession.
