Apperson Services At Baptist Church
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Walter Apperson at the Calvary Baptist Church Sunday afternoon, September 9th. The family had moved from Arcadia to Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska, some months ago and it was there Mrs. Apperson lost her life when a car she was driving was struck by a train. Rev. and Mrs. Madvig returned to Arcadia form their home in Minnesota to officiate at the services. Interment was in the Arcadia Cemetery.
Pauline Marion Apperson was born in Arcadia, Nebraska, on February 15, 1920. She graduated in 1937 from the Arcadia High School. She attended Kearney State Teachers' College and Wesleyan College at Lincoln. She taught three terms in rural schools and a full term in grade school in Arcadia.
She passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 1956. Her loved ones and friends will always remember her as a wonderful mother and homemaker.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Walter; four children, John 13, Judy 10, Sharon 6, and Susan 5; her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Owens, three sisters, Mrs. Ellwyn Apperson, Mrs. Don Petska, and Miss Dixie Owens; one brother, Mr. Raymond Owens, and one grandmother, Mrs. N. B. Carver, together with a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis, September 5, 1924.
She will be remembered in the home, in the church, and in the community as one who was willing to go the second mile in cheerful helpfulness.
