Mr. Owens was born Sept. 1, 1894, at Ashland, Ohio, to Willis and Myrtle Pifer Owens.

He attended public schools in the Ashland area and Completed high school in Arcadia.

He was married March 30, 1918, to Hazel Carver. They made their home in Arcadia.

Mr. Owens was a veteran of World War I and a charter member of the Arcadia American Legion Post No. 251. He farmed in the Arcadia area until retirement and worked for the ASC for 14 years during that time.

Survivors included his widow of Arcadia; three daughters, Mrs. Ellwyn (Wilma) Apperson of Loup City, Mrs. Don (Norma) Petska of Ord, and Mrs. Gerald (Dixie) Oatman of Scotsbluff; one son, Raymond of Arcadia; 20 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; six sisters, and two brothers.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, one grandson, four brothers, and one sister.
