CHILI RESIDENT DIES AT HOME
Edward Duchow, 82, who had been ill the past month, died today at his home at Chili. A heart ailment caused his death. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at Christ Lutheran Church, Chili, the Rev. Arthur A. Oswald officiating at the rites, after which interment will take place in the Nasonville cemetery.
Golden Wedding in 1943
Mr. Duchow was born at Potter, Calumet County, Nov. 10, 1866, received his education there, and was married at Potter Nov. 5, 1893 to Anna Voight. After their marriage they lived at Brillion for about five years, Mr. Duchow working for a lumber company. In October, 1899, they went to the Town of Fremont, Clark County, to farm until 1940. Since then they were residents of Chili. They observed their golden wedding in 1943.
Surviving Relatives
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Leonard of Vesper, and four daughters, Mrs. John (Hattie) Steltenpohl, Nasonville; Mrs. William (Rose) Steltenpohl, Chili; Mrs. Ken (Edna) Morrison, Stanley; and Mrs. Dave (Viola) Cline, Vesper. Another son died in infancy.
Other survivors are 20 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard of Potter, and Adolph of Collins; and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Klieksein and Mrs. Ella Schmidt, both of Valders. Two sisters and a brother and his parents are dead.
