Aaron, son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Petty) Pepple, married Elizabeth Richards in 1867. She died in 1895 and he married, second, Alma Lemon on August 5, 1899, in Jefferson County, Illinois.

He served as a Corporal in Company C, 63rd Illinois Infantry from Lawrence County, Illinois, during the Civil War.
