"Mrs Blythe W Rose, 66, of Spartansburg, RD 1, died Sunday in Union City Hospital following a brief illness. She was born Dec 26, 1900, in Spartansburg, the daughter of Clyde W and Rose Potter Aikens. On June 19, 1923, she married George Rose. He survives. She was a member of Spartansburg Methodist Church and Sunday school, of the WSCS and of the Sparta Grange. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters - Mrs Joseph (Eleanor) McCray of Corry, RD 1, and Mrs Charles (Marjorie) Palmer of Cambridge Springs, RD 2; four sons - Ivan Rose and George Rose Jr, both of Spartansburg, RD 1, Harry Rose of Apopka, Fla, and Richard Rose of West Seneca, NY; two brothers - Murl Aikens of Union City, RD 4, and Ray Aikens of Erie; a sister-in-law, Mrs Mildred Aikens of Erie; and 20 grandchildren. A brother, Wayne Aikens, and a sister, Francis Aikens, died previously. Friends may call at the H Richard Hays Funeral Home in Spartansburg...and attend the funeral service at 2 pm Wednesday in the Spartansburg Methodist Church with Rev H Lewis Hewitt officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Spartansburg."
