Ann H. Kile Caldwell of Middletown, NY, died Friday, August 1, 2008 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus in Middletown, NY, surrounded by her loving family. She was 70.

The daughter of the late Clarence and the Doris Terbush Kile, she was born February 20, 1938 in Middletown, NY.

A lifetime resident of the Middletown area, she attended Grace Episcopal Church. Ann graduated from O.C.C.C., attended Russell Sage College and received a Master's degree from SUNY New Paltz. She was a kindergarten teacher, working in Middletown, Otisville and Chester School Districts. She left her teaching career to raise her two daughters and later worked as a housing counselor for RDAC.

A family statement reads: "She was fun loving and generous, yet feisty and determined. Ann always accepted people as they were, she never judged others. She was kind, enduring, and resourceful and an avid advocate for people in need."

Ann is survived by her two daughters, Anne E. Caldwell and her husband, Clark, and Lillian Caldwell and her lifelong partner, Edward White; two grandchildren, David and his wife, Katie and Cloe, and one great-grandchild, Daysha.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., on Monday, August 4, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Grace Episcopal Church, 12 Depot Street, Middletown. The Rev. John Warfel will officate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery, Middletown.
