Apfel services scheduled today
Elmer A. Apfel, 71 214 Chicago Ave., Valparaiso, died at 4:50 a.m. Tuesday in the Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. Born in Nebraska, Mr. Apfel was retired civil service. He was a member of Alpha Lodge 172.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today from the McLaughlin Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Thomas Scott officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso with McLaughlin Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Apfel is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frankie Apfel, Valparaiso; two sons, Robert of Valparaiso and William of Cocoa Beach; one daughter, Mrs. Donna Connolly of Kirkland, Wash.; one brother, Deon Apfel of Jophlyn, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Anita Benning of Norfolk, Neb., and six grandchildren. Masons will serve as pallbearers.
